Authenticity Guarantee

We want you to buy with confidence. Here is exactly what we sell, how we label it, and what we promise.

Two kinds of jewelry, clearly labeled

Native American handmade. Rings, pendants, squash blossoms, buckles, cuffs, bar necklaces and many earrings in our shop are handmade by Navajo (Diné) and Zuni artists. Each listing shows the artist's name, their tribe and the hallmark stamped on the piece, usually the artist's name or initials plus "Sterling" or "925". See our Meet the Artists page.

Desert Pearls (Navajo Pearl style) are not Native American made. The sterling silver beads are machine-made, and each piece is hand strung in the USA. We use the words "Navajo Pearl style" only to describe the look of the beads, never to suggest who made them. Every Desert Pearl listing says this plainly.

We follow the Indian Arts and Crafts Act, which protects Native American artists and buyers by requiring honest descriptions of who made a piece.

Sterling silver

Every piece we sell is genuine .925 sterling silver. Many pieces have an oxidized (darkened) finish that brings out the detail in the silverwork. That finish is intentional.

Stones and shell

We describe each stone by name and, when known, by mine (for example Kingman, Sonoran, Royston, Sierra Nevada or Turquoise Mine #8). Spiny oyster, conch and white buffalo are listed by name too. Much of the turquoise used in Southwest jewelry is stabilized to make it durable; if you'd like to know whether the stone in a specific piece is natural or stabilized, message us before you buy and we'll tell you what we know.

Our guarantee

If a piece you buy from us is not what we described (it isn't sterling silver, it wasn't made by the artist named, or it wasn't Native American made when we said it was) contact us and we will give you a full refund, including return shipping.
